I Will Crush Online Poker to Quit School
Stuck in a small town in Mississippi attending Delta State University with nothing to look forward to but do but go to class and drinking cheap beer with a bunch of dudes. "Keep Cleveland Boring" is the small town Moto and boy do they keep their word. This town is safe and that is not me. I like risks and high risks that is. From gambling obscene amounts of money on the luck of cards or gambling with my life by sky diving from 15,000 feet above the earth. It makes tractor trailers look smaller than the nascar toys I played with when I was little.
My Goal is simple. Make $10,000 Poker Bankroll by the end of the year playing poker so I can leave Cleveland and never go back. Society, social norms, and 98% of everyone I meet tell me to go to school. It seems they have little respect of my analytical approach to life. The say things such as "what if is doesn't work out? That's risky! What if you fail? How are you going to pay the bills?. They recommend that I follow the normal way of life. Go to school and get a secure job. Here lies the problem. Did you know that the job you get is dependent on the company to take risks? Did you know the company depends on the consumers to purchase their products or services in order to stay in business for you to keep your job? Most of the time employees are uneducated of the market so they have no idea if they are going to lose their job because they don't foresee changes in industry and consumer needs. Enough of my rant and lets get down to the specifics.

My Rough Estimates is it should take 20k-70k hands (depending on the level) to move up. If I can sustain a solid win rate (5-9bb per 100) over sample size over (30k Hands) I will be confident enough in my poker playing to move up. This challenge will be done while attending school full time (maintaining at least a 3.5 GPA), having time to spend socializing with my fraternity, and staying connected to my Girlfriend back home. My rationale is if I can balance all these aspects of life then my analytical approach to life and making decisions should be trusted over general advise.
